Hi, I have an interview this week for Certificate IV in Nursing. I am sooooooooooooooo nervous about my interview, its been 10 years since I attended one. Can anyone give me some insight into what happens at a TAFE interview, how long they go for, what I am asked? Also, what to wear? I have selected a black pair of pants and a really nice shirt, with black shoes-not heels....
I am shaking as I write this, please help me gain some confidence. My vetassess scores were 37 and 39 out of 40, so I am going along ok so far... Sharon

I sat mine with health train.. but i would imagine they would be similair. I can't imagine u have much to worry about with the score u got on ur test.
well done once again :)
They will probably ask you a few common sense questions..
i got asked at mine what i would do if i was looking after person who couldnt speak english and i needed to give them a shower for example..??
I came up with... drawing... or like getting a towel and imitating what you arre going to do.. or motion towards the shower if the shower is in the room...
OR what would you do if u didnt agree with something a nurse was about to do?? you would speak to them AWAY from the patient and make them aware of your concerns. that kinda stuff....
and why you chose nursing... is your life flexible enough to cope with study and clinical placements etc No need to be nervous really.. just be yourself and don't forget to smile :D (i know its hard when ur nervous) Best of luck with it

Well its finally over, no more stress for that one! We started out with a group interview, then were interviewed individually....I was the first!
The ONLY problem is that we have to wait (AGAIN!!) until the end of next week to find out....don't quite know how I'm going to survive another week.
In the post today was an interview from RMIT for next Wednesday at 9am...so I guess I best go for that as well...better to be safe than sorry.
I am just going to keep busy, and NOT wait for the postman (LOL) every day....I am so over WAITING! Sharon

hey guys, the waiting is the worst part......... sharon your lucky.. i waited nearly 2-3 weeks to find out... and it killed me lol.. i was constantly waiting for the posty hehe.
But if i were you i would def go to the other interview as a back up plan. Better to spread ur eggs than put them all in one basket is the saying isnt it? Although.. from your test result i read in another post i dont think u have much to worry about. :)

Hi all, Just thought I'd let you know I'm STILL WAITING!! I have been for 3 interviews now, and now I just have to wait...is it a crime to stalk your own letterbox, waiting for the postman each morning? LOL

i went for my interview today and we were told that we will know for sure in a week via post so fingers crossed!
my interview was a group one, which maybe is better to be honest cause i did not feel AS nervous and made some friends already...so if i am successful, i know a few people and my first day will not be as strange and all newish
i am sooo excited! and the teachers at VU seemed sooo nice and calm and helpful, so i am glad i applied there now, especially since once i graduate i will also be endorsed
good luck guys xoxo nalan
