G'day everyone,

Presently, I am looking at becoming a male nurse in Queensland. I am a senior school aged student through distance education - however, won't be continuing to Year. 12 for personal reasons. Anyway, I would like to obtain a Diploma of Nursing through a trainee-ship and hopefully start the course next year. Does anyone know whether it's possible to commence a trainee-ship or whether I would need to go through TAFE? Furthermore, I also wanted to know a little more about what hospital nurses do? Does the Diploma get you into hospital nursing or do you need a degree?

Thanks so much!

Maybe another option would be to undertake a trainee-ship in aged care and then enter nursing after a couple years?

Try doing Cert III in Aged Care and see have you will like it or not, it will give you a idea have nursing is all about as it is a begining start before going into Diploma of Nursing. Cert III course is alot cheaper than Diploma of Nursing which the price is close to $7,000 + ???
