Hi kcep,
The questions may possibly be centered around the area of nursing practice/specialty you have chosen. In my interview I was asked 4 questions and given the opportunity to ask some questions in return.
Examples of questions asked from my interviewers were: what would you do if a patient was complaining of chest pain?; what does infection control mean?; what would you do in the case of a needle stick injury?; and a question related to quality control and continuing professional development.
I did prepare some questions in return and they related to education during the grad program, expectations of my employer regarding the time required for a full pt load to be attained, support and mentoring/preceptorship and a couple of others that fail my memory atm.
I was given time to think about my answers and the interview was conducted by two people. I was also prompted in the right direction on a few occasions with a response of "yes very good, what else would you do".
I took along my CV that listed all of my clinical placements and work history but it was not asked for. I also took along my clinical learning book (Tollefson) with the competencies I had attained during prac marked off so as they could see what I had been up to, they had a quick flick through it.
So after all that I would have a good think about your chosen area and try and relate some questions that my be asked of you and work through some scenarios in your head. The BIG thing is don't panic and think of the simple things as it is all related to DRABC.
All the very best and hope you go well
Cheers.
