hi everyone,

I finish my Bachelor of Nursing degree overseas but I havent applied for registration,In order for me to be eligible to apply for a registration here in Australia, is I have to re Study again as undergraduate Nurse and i will be a 3rd year student.I just wanna know what sort of job I do qualify? and what does 3rd year student do?and how many hours of placement do I have to complete?plz every1 I really dont have any Idea I need help plzzzzzzzzzzz

hi,

it all depends on a few things. firstly, if you have a nursing degree from another country you really should apply for registration in that country. you can then contact the Nurses Board in your state and find out if you can get mutual recognition. some countries like the UK for example do get recogition and once you get it you can start working straight away. other countries such as the Phillipines for example, may get partial recognition and then have to study for a year doing a 'bridging course' before they get registration. others unfortunately do not get recognition at all.

so you need to figure out what category you fall into to see what your options are. if you do not get any recognition for your nursing degree then im afraid you will have to start from scratch and do a 3 yr degree to be an RN or a tafe course to be an EN.

Yes Iam from philippines but i ddnt took my board exam for licensure back home,but I already contact the Uni here they will consider me as 3rd year student.I just wanna know what 3rd year students does here,cz i wanna be ready when I start on feb.and wot sort of job do I qualify.can I work as an EN?
