Hey guys and girls,

I was wondering whether anyone on here is currently undertaking an Aged Care traineeship in QLD, and how you went about getting it? I have found a few online courses that I could complete, in order to get a Certificate III in Aged Care, however would rather a traineeship, as I wouldn't have to pay for the course or look for work placement. Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Would be difficult to find a place willing to subsidise or assume the cost of cert 3, as most would need to be assured of your commitment to the industry and also to them as the employer, that you won;t scoot the day you finish.

That said, you will find better odds looking for work as a carer/AIN/PCA in nursing homes. They might then consider you for sponsorship. As for me, I recommend that you bite the bullet and get your cert 3 straight up and armed with this you will find it easier to gain employment. Good luck

Thanks for the advise, I will probably do the course online through a TAFE, and pay by the unit.
