Although this forum is mostly viewed by nurses and aged care workers, I thought I would start a topic for people either wanting to go into or already working in the Disability Sector
I figure that someone will be looking for information. I've not really found any other forums (yet) for people working/studying Disability. If anyone knows of any please post them.
I am volunteering with people with acquired brain injury and am enjoying my experiences. I've been looking into where to study a Cert 1V in Disability and I am based in melbourne.
I have approached a few training providers and generally have been disappointed with their lack of interest in talking to me.... that is until today when I visited the Holmesglen TAFE open day
They were very positive and helpful and it was genuine not just becuase of the open day. They have inspired me to study with them and I think that I will come out well qualified and find it easy to get a job.
Would love to hear from anyone studying /working in the Disability sector.
