Hi,
I have signed up for the AIN Cert III Course through NSW Tafe. Mon - Thursday 9 to 3
This is a career change for me, something totally different.
I am excited about the journey ahead although I haven't studied since I left school many years ago.
I am a mature age student but I feel life experiences will be an advantage.
Have experience as a patient and what works from that side of the room. I have had a lot of nurses in my years make me feel they had been in the wrong field of employment. Even new staff had no compassion, not that they were rushed off their feet, they were always rude.
So if anything I will be taking my own personal experiences with me, and I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with compassion, understanding and respect. I believe if you treat people well they will appreciate hat you are doing for and with them.
Have nursed my Grandmother, Mother inlaw, Father all elderly and qualified nursing stff at the hospital thought I was already a nurse with what I was doing to care for my own family. So that is promising.
I am interested if anyone else is about to start their Tafe course or even if you are doing the course through OTEN we could all chat and help each other.
Looking forward to any replies. Cheers
