Hi all, I'm doing cert 3 Aged care and stuck with a question that has to do with manual handling. I will so much appreciate it if anyone can be of help or direction on where to look to in respect of answering this question. The question is; give an exmaple for when you would use the following types of manual handling equipment ; Standing lifters.

the other is a full sling lifter for people who cannot walk or weight bare.

To be able to use a standing lifter, a client must be able to weightbear atleast 10%. You would use a standing lifter when transferring a client from bed to wheelchair, toilet, commode etc.
Hope this answers your question, if you have any more questions feel free to send me a message and I'll try to help =)

Oh and I forgot to add, a client must be able to hold on with atleast one hand to the handle on the standing lifter
