Just call/email/write any nursing homes, and they will be delighted to have you. I have just done about 1/2 year of volunteering in preparation for a RNd1 course. I found it absolutely great. The residents really appreciate you coming in to talk with them. You don't need to know anything in particular, and you will not be allowed to do any direct care work - but you will get a good feel for what an aged care facility is and gain appreciation for what wonderful older adults live there. Good luck! I am trying to get a friend to do a cert iii in aged care - any mature, male pca's with good experiences?
