I am not aware of direct course for your circumstances, but you would definitely be able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning against the Diploma of EN at TAFE against the components of your degree already completed.

Then you would know what (if any) parts of the course you still need to complete.

I would also suggest you talk to the Nurses Board in your state, they would be able to advise the best manner to translate your training into a registration.

Good Luck with it.

Hey there,

I transferred from a Nursing Degree to the Diploma this year ... and I didn't get any credit!! Here in QLD, they've just updated and re-written the TAFE courses, and for all the paperwork I filled out, I was only going to get a partial credit for one of the subjects - it barely equated to a couple of the classes off for the whole semester!

I was told they are two very differently structured courses ... if possible, I would suggest applying for the third year of your degree again.

Good luck!

I remember hearing that once you'd completed 2nd year BN you could do a short 5-6 week course over summer to then work in 3rd year as an EN(Med). You may not be able to participate if you're not a current BN student.. this is in Brisbane. I think I heard this for Griffith Uni. I agree with Tanya. Make the most of the time you've already done and finish the degree.. Good Luck.

Yep my friend who is currently an RN has told me if she knew she would've done it instead of doing it broke for 3 years, but she said it's via TAFE and you work while you train, please inform me if you find anymore info out cheers.

Kind regards
