gem1981 (offline) Joined: Jul 2013 Location: sunshine coast Posts: 1	Thu Jul 04, 2013 5:07 pm hi all, would really appreciate some advice, i have been working as a community personal carer for the aged population and people with disabilities. however the work has becoming quite inconsistent.....i would really love to get an assistant in nursing job in a hospital, does anyone know if i need any extra qualifications? i have my cert 3 in aged care and over 2years experience in my current job. any feedback would be great! thank you.

I was recently in hospital in Lismore and there is a nurse who only has her Cert III in Aged Care working there. She said she works in the Dialysis section and has been in theatre assisting and plus general nursing work. She was taking BP's at the time and we starting talking. Try the hospitals as most have aged people there anyway. It does not mean you would be stuck just looking after the Aged though. Good luck.
