I would like to apply for the march 2012 enrolled nursing course with GCIT. I actually live in NSW and I was wondering if anyone can advise me on how to go thru the application process.

I am from Melbourne and just followed the instructions on the website - expression of interest / waiting list. Somebody from DETA should contact you in regards to this, and then the ball starts rolling from there. I found the staff at DETA really helpful. I will be starting in March.

Hi Leanne and and everyone else starting Dip Nursing through GCIT next week. Question- has anyone had any correspondence as to what happens on Monday for orientation? I have been checking MyTafe daily and checking my email but have not heard anything except orientation is Monday?????? If anyone could shed some light on what is happening, i would really appreciate it. PS- leanne I am studying part time and live on the Gold Coast.

Hi Kysanne, All I can gather is that everything we will need to know about the first week will be put up on the my.Tafe platform next Monday. I have already had a look around the platform, the homepage and also had a look into the GCITconnect link - which had some general information on it. My injury was a ruptured scapho-lunate ligament (first bit of research for you - if you are interested), and the surgery finally went ahead on Monday afternoon. The ligament was rebuilt, and according to a very brief post op conversation with the surgeon, a couple of bones have been screwed together to assist with the healing process (and to help prevent the fourth recurrence of this injury). Looking forward to start studying (I have three months at home recovery from surgery, so there should be no excuse). Paul

Hi Kysanne, Hi everyone looking forward to starting the week after next. I received an email from Tafe today, I will copy and paste it so you guys can see what it says: Dear Student Welcome and congratulations on enrolling into GCIT’s Diploma of Nursing - online. This program will become available on the my.TAFE website on Monday 5th March, however, please note that your first subjects do not commence until Monday 12th March. This first week is for you to familiarise yourself with my.TAFE. You have been emailed your my.TAFE login via a separate email when your enrolment was processed, if you did not receive, please contact me and I can organise another one for you. If your password has expired, please also contact me to reset it for you, alternatively you can push the “forgotten password button” and a new one will be sent to your email. Please work your way through the my.TAFE Orientation. We hope you enjoy your study with us. Your textbooks will be mailed to you directly from our supplier – you should receive these shortly. Not long to go now....Take care everyone xxx If you experience any problems that we may assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us, I have listed below contact details for you: If you experience any problems that we may assist you with, please do not hesitate to contact us, I have listed below contact details for you:

Thanks Chrissy doll, I just found my email in my junk box. I can't wait to get started. I have been at home raising children for the past 5 years and keen to get back into something.

I have my email, I've had a look through the various links that are open to us, and have started browsing through some of the books in my works library. The nerves are starting to build a little bit, so I am really looking forward to the first lesson. All I need now are for my books to arrive and I will be set. Kyles - you are on the right track. I have (for the third time) ruptured the ligament the joins the scaphoid and lunate bones, which allowed a number of bones to dislocate. Six months recovery and rehab before being allowed back to work.
