Hi Leroy. I'm studying the div 2/cert 4 course in melbourne and before we went on placement, we had to visit our doctor and just make sure we were up to date on our vaccinations. Your school/tafe, should tell you what vaccinations you need. We just had to make sure we had the Hepatitis shots and flu shot etc..

Hi Leroy,

I'm studying EN in Perth, WA. We had to have a full medical - disclose any medication we were on, have a chest x-ray (for TB), get vaccinated for Hep B and Tetanus. We had to have blood tests to see what we were and weren't immune to (eg, measles, rubella etc.). We also had to have lungs listened to, Dr to comment on whether there would be any problems in lifting or anything that might compromise on our ability to perform the nursing tasks. Mine was pretty thorough. Mine took about 1 hour for the Physical alone. Check with the TAFE but they are a lot more thorough than they use to be. Good luck.

Regards,

Mirabell
