Hi Jules, Has anyone called you for an interview yet? I wonder if RMIT are waiting until the VTAC results are out, from memory I think they're released in early January. I really hope you get an interview! Holly

Hi Jules74, I see you are still waiting to hear from RMIT about an interview. I am currently doing the Cert IV at RMIT, we had our last class for the year on Tuesday and I asked the course co-ordinator about next years students. She said that they still have to do interviews (probably next week) so maybe you will still hear from them. Good luck Edited to add: I'm not sure why they would be waiting for VTAC results/lists, this course is not applied to via VTAC.

Hi Jaydee, ive just spoken to RMIT myself as im starting to get confused by whats going on..... by the way, for the F/T course you did have to apply thru VTAC. P/T applications are direct to RMIT. the girl i spoke to was named Cassie and she was lovely. she has confirmed what you said. they ARE still to interview people. she said some interviews were/are being done in Dec, and some are being done in January. So thats good news! means were still in the running...... on another note, firstly when i rang the RMIT infocorner number i spoke to some woman who told me (when i explained that i was assuming i hadnt been successful) that maybe my vetassess results hadnt been received by RMIT.. keep in mind that she didnt even ask me my name... she said i shouldve sent my vetasses results straight to RMIT!! which sent me into a bit of a spin!! bcos i was definitely under the assumption we had to send it to VTAC to forward to RMIT....anyway, ive spoken to RMIT and im waiting to talk to another woman who will be able to tell me if my results were passed on...they had better have been forwarded or i'll be majorly annoyed. anyway... will see what happens next....

Oh yes, sorry, the FT application is to VTAC, I only applied PT, oops! Jules74 - if you sat the Vetassess at RMIT (which I did) then the results usually get forwarded directly to them. I also applied to Box Hill TAFE and it was up to me to send them my results. I hope yours have arrived. Things has been slightly chaotic at RMIT lately, I hope you get it all sorted.

hi jaydee, hmmmm..i tell you the whole VTAC/Vetassess thing is starting to irritate me! thankfully ive spoken to someone at RMIT and shes happy for me to send thru my Vetassess results now via fax (ie over the weekend or on monday) so its not too late. but i swear at NO point was i told to send my vetassess results direct to RMIT. i spoke to VTAC about 'supporting documentation,' and at the same time asked if i needed to send them (VTAC) the vetassess to forward to RMIT along with the other paperwork and they said YES!! just goes to show that if you talk to the wrong person it can totally screw things up for you....and id never be able to prove that i was told the wrong thing!!! mind you, im stil not 100% convinced that they havent sent it to RMIT, but im not going to harrass the people at RMIT about it- im just gonna send the results thru and be done with it. i swear the education system is such a mess from start to finish...before you are even a part of it its a mess and then when you are part of it its often even more of a disaster!

vtac is nothing but the most irresponsible organisation i ve ever came across i give them 3 calls ,first time, said the offoce taking charge of my case will not be open until 18th january 2010(maybe rmit already close the application) second time, i was told, come back to check at the end of december ( xmas holliday) thirdtime, reply by email, 11th Dec, list of applicants will be send to rmit for them to select the candidates for interview also i made application for VU by vtac, and VU s name did appear on the receipt on which they charge me 37$,but the truth is, before the closing date of application, VU didnt receive any application under my name so i guess vtac staff ,everydate routine is sit their ass in the air conditioned office, wasteding the money of tax payers

Hi Tiger30, There's a chance that VU might still be doing interviews. I think they may be waiting for the VTAC results before they finalise all their interviews, because they'd have to wait for the results of the students who finished year 12 this year. I had an interview with them exactly two weeks ago, and I was told that I'd receive either a letter of offer, or a letter of rejection in "about two weeks". It's been two weeks today, so I hope I find out soon! I'm pretty sure all universities and TAFE institutions are all as disorganised as each other. You'd think that it wouldn't be that difficult, especially since they offer the same courses each year. Good luck guys! :) Holly

everytime i give a call to the school or vtac,i can always have a new story, new version of explanation vu told me FT application must make directly to the school but vu s name did appear on the receipt which was given to me by vtac untill the close day, vu didnt receive my application this is a lousy weird system holmesglen is good and effective, but guess they are smart business man, they received more than 100 applications and i guess around 120 40 seats for local and others for oversea students who will pay 5 digits tuition a year so holmesglen send me a rejection letter in a week, so effective! ;-)

To anyone reading this who applied for Cert IV at VU, I rang VU during the week and they said that they sent out their letters to everyone on Wednesday and Thursday (December 16th and 17th). I was told that everyone who had been interviewed would receive either a letter of offer, or rejection. So I guess that clears that up then... I got in, I'm pretty rapt. I really thought I was going to be rejected, as there were quite a few applicants in my interview group who seemed like they would've got into the course for sure, because they had already worked in aged care or as PCAs. Good luck guys, I hope you get some answers soon!

Hi Kathie, I'm just wondering what campus your Doing the course at? Bundoora or city? The reason I ask is that I had an interview for the F/T course last week & at the time they mentioned that the F/T course starts around &th feb, & that the P/T courses started around the end of feb ( think they said the 21/2). My sister was also there and she heard the same thing. So I'm confused about where u could be starting a P/T RMIT course next Monday 18/1??? Congratulations on getting in too!!
