Jan 18, 2010, 05:25 pm Congratulations Jules, that's fantastic news! :D :D Hopefully you get an offer for the full time course. When does the part time course start? My first class is Wednesday, and we have orientation tomorrow. I can't wait to get into my new routine (of having no life for the year!). Congratulations again, Holly :) |

Jan 18, 2010, 06:03 pm holly, to be honest im not sure when the PT classes start!! i think its the end of Feb. if we accept the PT course (both my sister and i were offered PT) then we have to enrol next wed so i guess we'll find out then. i think the FT course starts around the 8th Feb though. are you doing FT at VUT? how many days a week is it? at RMIT FT is now 4 days a week which was a bit of a shock...we thought it was 3 days per week and weve been optimistically planning things around that, but weve decided that we'll just make it work for the sake of finishing the course by November 2010.....is VUT 1 year full time? |

Jan 18, 2010, 10:25 pm Yaaayyy!!! :D Congrats to you and your sister. That's great that you'll be able to help each other out throughout the year. Yep, I'm doing the full time course, and it's just one year. I'm not sure whether it's 4 or 5 days a week yet, I'll find out tomorrow. We weren't even told what time we can go home tomorrow either! I've prepared myself for 5 days at school, so if it's only 4 days then I'd be pleasantly surprised. |

Jan 19, 2010, 12:28 pm Hi HM and jules74, Congratulations on your places! Jules74 - are you going to accept P/T or F/T? I'm about to start the last 6 months of the P/T course so hopefully will be finished by end of July. Full timers have been doing 4 days pw for a while so someone has confused you by saying it was 3 days. Anyway, good luck. HM - hope the orientation went well. Good luck for the year! |

Jan 24, 2010, 06:44 pm thanks jaydee, it actually said FT was 3 days per week on the RMIT website (and pt 2 days) up until somepoint in 2009...but its gone now and the info has been updated- now it doesnt actually say how many days. but both my sister and i saw it so theyve obviously changed the old info. its probably not such a bad thing that we didnt realise it was 4days bcos we probably wouldnt have applied for FT had we known. at least now after coming this far we know we just have to get on with it and do it. we were also both offered P/T places, but we'd rather finish by the end of this year. Kathie, where r u doing your course..sorry if youve mentioned already..im on holiday so my brain is in relaxed mode! the f/t RMIT is only 1 yr, well 9 months to be exact- so we'll be finished by november 2010 which means were gonna be completely flat out for the next 9 months...but its 9 months of pain for a long term gain so were prepared to do it. were both still gonna work 3 days per week, but weve both studied before, and were old enough (35 & 27) to know what were capable of doing. by this time next year we'll be soooooo happy that we made the sacrafice to have a very busy year. jaydee, how have you enjoyed the course so far? what do you think of the classes, teachers etc? any advice????? |

Feb 18, 2010, 12:41 am Jules74 - sorry, just saw your last post. So far so good with the course. I do 2 days p/w and that's plenty for me! It's been a juggling act with 3 children, study and Hubby's business so I am looking forward to wrapping it up by the end of July. I have found the course pretty full-on in terms of learning. There's a heap of information I need to try and retain so my brain has had to snap back into learning mode. So far I've managed to score all HD's and D's so I'm very happy. We've started our medications module which is exciting because it feels like we are getting closer to our goal. I've found the teachers to be good, they really know their stuff. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever know everything I need to! We've mainly been taught by Wendy, Jennie, Gary and Vivienne. I hope it's all going well for you so far, feel free to shout out if you have any questions. Cheers Julie :o) |

Apr 07, 2010, 07:00 pm Hi All :)
I'm actually interested in applying for the mid yr intake at RMIT - full time. Not sure which Campus I should apply for either? Also, could any of you give me any input on what to expect in the interview? As I get so nervous when it comes to these things & go blank!! which is a shame cause I have so many reasons for becoming a Div 2 Nurse. Congrats on all of you who have made it into the course - the start of a very rewarding career :) |
