Hi Cathy it's nice to know that u will be doing the same. well i did go thru the same when i apply for the en course in nsw,(sydney) first i have to pay $120.00 to the nurses college, then sit for the numeracy and literacy test, then they will let u know within 2weeks if u pass or fail. There's a sample test on the Aust nursing college website, that you can look up and it's similar to the one you will be tested on. Don't worry you will be fine, all you need to do, is start studying the sample test now.As for the numeracy it's basic maths, I hope this info will be helpful to you. Let me know how it go, all the best.

Hi Scorp8, I also got into EN, but in Western Australia. I was a bit surprised when I enrolled the other day, there were 120 students, all enrolling in Nursing. Did you also find the same at your TAFE? I am assuming it is a money making business and they are expecting people to drop out or phase those out who they don't think should be there. I could not believe that out of 26 units, 13 are covered in the first semester! The timetable is very, very full! Most days are 830am - 430pm. I think this is also a method of getting rid of those who don't really want to work hard. Oh well, at least semester 2 and 3 will be a little less full! Good luck with your studies and all the best with your future as a nurse.

Hi There Everyone, I will also be starting end of July doing my Diploma of Nursing at Mt Lawley Tafe. I am a bit nervous but I believe as a matured student, we have diversity on our side and honestly, with a positive attitude we shall conquer all obstacles. All the best to everyone.
