hi where i work we have 3rd yr RN students in charge of the hospital is this allowed. There is an RN in the hospital but they work with out direct supervision, and are called ains, just wondering if this is right can't seem to find any information on this thanks.

Hi Jacquie, i do not know where you work but "3rd. year students are running the hospital wards"seems is not right. Are you sure ??? :))) To be able to work independently in wards specially, to give patient's medications, you have to have be EEN (Enrolled Nurse with medical endorsement, or you have to be RN (Registered Nurse) on other ways about it. Do you have a NUM ?(Nursing Unit Manager) Do you work in a Nursing Home??? They might have a different policy then hospitals. Or these 3.rd years might have qualifications you do not know about :)))
