Hello,
I am really wanting to get into nursing as I have been out of the workforce for a few years due to having children and really want to get back into it.
I am just not sure where to start looking. I have tried looking at different courses etc that are on offer thru the net but seem to get confused about
all the different kinds of courses and degrees you can do. What is the best way to go about it? Can you train and work at the same time like a
trianeeship? How come some courses are shorter than others? Where is a good place to study? I live in Brisbane.
Whats the difference between ER and RN?
Thank you so much for your replies in advance.
Rebecca.

You can do a reentry course somewhere. my mum had been looking at getting back into nursing, and found out that most of the public hospitals will help you do a refresher course so you could ring up the hospitals and ask them about it. I think also CQU do a course by distance education.

For information, go to the QNC website.

Hello Rebecca,

From the sounds of your message, it seems you are wanting to start out in nursing, you're not someone who was already a nurse once?

Have a look around past forum posts on here - there's lots of info if you just dig a little.

For QLD relevant info - http://www.thinknursing.com/nursing-midwifery/what-is/career-structure looks good as does http://www.thinknursing.com/nursing-midwifery/starting-out/enrolled-nurse and http://www.thinknursing.com/nursing-midwifery/starting-out/registered-nurse .

For educational differences : Enrolled Nurses are usually TAFE qualified, Registered Nurses are usually Universtiy qualified.

Best of luck!
