Entrance Test - Numeracy & Literacy

It's not the vetassess test but their own version based on proficiency on year 10 numeracy and year 12 literacy - unfortunately it is MANY years since I was at school, plus I went to school in the UK so I really don't know what this type of maths envolves - I have bought myself a couple of workbooks to work through, which I hope helps. Yes, I have seen the sample test on vetassess website - urggg much harder in real life you say..... now I'm really nervous as I was just getting good at those questions!!!

HI! I have passed my numeracy and literacy test on 9th of july and i have been working in age care faciliti for 2 years and i do really want to apply for Div 2 in nursing course and i have missed out for Div 2 by NSW Health Department for this semeter.If anyone know where else and when i can apply for Div 2 for nursing course please give me advice that would be appreciated.Thanks a lot

Hi there. I BARELY passed my entrance exam guys.. i got 56%... The maths component in my exam wasnt actually that hard.. as long as u know your fractions ect. Although i froze on that night.. complete mind blank. Do you have to sit an interview as well??
I got in to the div 2 course based on my interview. They arn't just looking for people that show academic skills.. You have to have the right personality and attitude to get into the course. i'm 99% sure i didnt get in based on my entrance exam score of 56% lol. All i've got to say is not to stress over it. sure do some brushing up on your math and english.. but don't go digging too deep into the maths otherwise youll just confuse yourself. Last but not least.. If you dont get in.. or you fail the entrance exam.. you CAN always try again in the future.

Hi, no we weren't allowed to take a calculator. Although we were allowed to use paper to work things out. Check with the place your applying at you may be able to. Where are you applying??

Part of the english was multiple choice. Can't remember about the maths part.. i think most of it wasnt multiple choice.

Hi - I am sitting the entrance exam for Cert IV in 5 days!!!!

Maths skills need to be addressed. Can a nyone possibly tell me what type of maths is on the entrance test and at what year level. I was told it was VCE year 12 (Victoria) BUT the example test on the VCCA website is not at that level.

I am desperate for as much info on this as possible.....

I sat my Vetassess test for DIV2 in Victoria yesterday! After HEAPS of panic attacks and studying it was A-OK. Theres not much info out there on it. The Vetassess test you can download is a good example actually.
The literacy is common sense and as long as you can spell :) its fine. All multiple choice........1/2 hour.

Maths has some tricky ones......but only a couple. The amths was multiple choice as well. One where you have to calculate droplet rate (I couldnt do it) and a funny algebra one (couldnt do it either) where you have to find x. Mostly it was basic maths, and I only went to Year 10 and spent maths sitting in the hall. There were a couple of basic adding and subtracting fractions, a couple of basic graphs. I think I missed 4 questions. Not too bad for a maths dummy. This test was 1/2 hour too but it went much faster!!!! I suggest not wasting time on one sum if youre a bit stuck..... go back to it.

Then you have 45 mins to write 3 short!!!as essays. Again pretty cruisy....
I hope this helps one person.....or more. Me and my friend were suffering with panic, she even threw up!! and it was ok. Not University difficult. Just cover the basics and youll do great. This website helped me heaps......Thanks all.

i was wondering if anyone can tell me about the interviews asked in the intake interview - i hate interviews

if anyone else sits this same test, don't be scared off by the drip rate one as its not as scary as it looks. It fills half the page in the book but they give you the formula to work it out and all the numbers you need. Once you convert the words into an actual fraction its quite an easy sum. I did this same test in my meds entrance exam. Lots of people just left it. I'm the opposite to most of you. Pretty good at maths but my spellings rotten. good luck
