Would anyone care to share? I've been lucky enough to be offered an early round offer for BAch of Nursing by ACU, and am over the moon, but, was really hoping for an offer from Deakin into Bach of Nursing/Bach of Public Health.... I've applied as a mature age student and sat the STAT multiple choice, but, have no idea how the STAT score is used in comparison to an ENTER score for Uni entry..

Hi Autumn, I entered uni straight after year 12 on the basis of my UAI (aka enter) so I have never had to sit STAT. I think it's fairly complex how they work it out for mature age though, and as well as taking STAT into account they will take into account any previous studies, such as if you are an enrolled nurse. Sorry, I know that probably doesn't help much Steph

My STAT score was 96 (!) but I know people who got in with 70.

update #1
I am in SA First time I got 158 and did not get in. I was told that normally this would have got me into just about any course I wanted too. This score put me at the 75th percentile - meaning I was top 25% The issue is it all depends on how many people are applying in any given year. The second time I got 178 and did get in. This put me in to the top 7%. Those percents are against everyone who sat STAT not just those who wanted to do nursing. It really isn't your score so much as to where it places you against everyone else who is applying for the course. Good luck

It is not just the STAT score that counts. Other things like whether you have a VCE/year 12 and what mark you got, previous degrees completed (and results). I am studying at Deakin in Burwood and a lot of the mature age students who haven't come in as Div 2's seem to have either a prior degree or prior attempt at another uni course. Studying Div 2 first doesn't seem to making getting in a sure thing - it seems that some Div 2 miss out on a uni place.

STAT scores are converted into UAI's. My STAT score gave me a UAI of 85 which got me in this year.

I sat for the STAT in 11/2009 and my score was: Overall 157, percentile rank 62; Verbal 165, percentile rank 88; and Quantitative 150, percentile rank 33. Never really sure what it all meant though, if anyone could compare and enlighten me, would be great!! I got into Diploma of Nursing with TAFE, but I didn't have to do the test to get in because it was offered through direct entry. Wasted my money probably!

I didn't sit STAT. I didn't finish high school, but all these years later, I did some OUA subjects, got HD's, then went to USQ's Tertiary Prep Program and got HD's for that. I rang QTAC after getting an offer to see if I could find out my rank, but I can't be told until after the major offer round :(

I did my STAT as special entry in November, my results are as follows; Your overall STAT score is 163 in the score range 100 to 200. This is equal to or better than the score obtained by 84 per cent of STAT candidates. Your score for the verbal component of the STAT is 169 in the score range 100 to 200. Your score for the quantitative component of the STAT is 156 in the score range 100 to 200. I'm not totally positive that I'll get in for some reason, I've applied for Adelaide Uni, Flinders Uni and UniSA. If anyone could share any knowledge about the nursing programmes at these Unis would be greatly appreciated.
