Hi.

I completed my Diploma of Nursing, before the National one was brought in, through Spencer TAFE, Whyalla via distance learning and I LOVED it.

Even though I had 2 workshops to attend in Whyalla, I live on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria so a 2 day drive, I even enjoyed that. Getting to meet others in the same boat and making many long lasting friendships.

It is a VERY tough course to get in to and the SATAC process is EXTREMELY draining, so I have my finger's crossed for you too.

In fact, it's really weird, but Spencer TAFE is offerering the Advanced Diploma by distance learning, and I accidently found your post while Googling for info on this Advanced Diploma course.

How weird?

Thanks for the reply..

I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind..how long ago did you do the course? Did you work as a carer before hand? If you did were you able to use previous skills and time in your job for any recognition of prior learning for the course? How did you find the support network? Thanks for your time..

I graduated in June this year.

I was a PCA for 21 years before hand. Since I was 14. So yes this wadded MANY SATAC points for me and helped with my application heaps.

As I also worked in theatre for 6 years I was able to get RPL for OH&S.

The support I got from my facilitator was great. i am the sort of person who if put under stress works even better. So i constantly asked her to actually put deal lines on me if I was finding a subject boring.

Workshops are so much fun. The suport you get there from other students is marvalous.

I have 3 addresses for you all who want the link to this course.

But for some reason this site is not allowing me to print the links?

My private e-mail address is redrecks@hotmail.com.

If you would like to write to me I will then pass on the links.
