Anyone else starting Diploma of Nursing in 2012?
Finally got my acceptance letter to do my Diploma of Nursing next year. I am so excited. I have been studying the last 3 years (something I love but dont have a passion for). 10 years ago when I left highschool I did start my Bachelor of Nursing and really loved it however that time in my life I need a break (around 2nd year) so I left and travelled the Northern Territory. I havent really done TAFE before, I did a couple of certifcates (retail and community service) when I was in year 12, so its all new for me. I only have one worry (which is one reason I didnt return to nursing first and chose a different line of study) my back, unfortunately I have issues with it, should be starting and injection treatment in February, but just worried it may stop me from doing something I love and have a passion for, but right now im not allowing it to stop me. Does anyone else have issues with their back etc?? If so how have you handled it with nursing?

how exciting, I cannot wait to start in feb. I am doing my course at Wodonga. Yeah I think if I make sure I dont take shortcuts and make sure I am lifting correctly I should be okay. My specialist tends to think if I can get approved for a goverment drug for my back I can basically live normally, however the other issue with that is it suppresses your immune system which isnt good in the nursing environment but im at the point I cannot let, pain hold me back I need to do what I love. Goodluck with you course :)
