Could anybody tell me their routine for showering. I am in placement at the moment and have not showered anybody yet.

When i was on placement i found it easiest to start at the top working down.. and i left the genital and bottom area till last. Just think how you would normally shower yourself.. and if your unsure ask another nurse. And dont be scared about showering someone... just remember your doing something for them that they either can't or have alot of difficulty doing.

Hey Alli,

I know this is an old post of yours,but was wondering if you could tell me what to expect with our first placement in aged care? I'm going to Monash gardens on the 30th Nov, is that where you went? Any advice?

By the way how are things going at the moment with your course?

How was your rehab placement?

Have you got a lot of work at the moment?

Hey megan, sorry its taken so long, but ive only just seen your post and im sure you are already on placement now. I did my aged care one at monash gardens. It was great! The nurses were really helpful. Although.. i kept getting lost! haha.. ur probably finding that too.. i kept ending up in the wrong wing.
I did my rehab placement in elsternwick back in august i think, that was fantastic! lots of opportunities to do obs, and spend alot of time with the patients. Like we would get to go up to physio with them and see what happens etc. It was fantastic!
