Hi , I contacted my local Tafe who said they really didnt think that they would have a July intake so therefore not to worry . I had read on the NSW Government website that the new enrolled nursing course would also be offered parttime and via distant education so to help people who couldnt take time from work/family commitments to do fulltime Tafe . So i am not of any help to you really . But i also would be interested if anyone has any infomation on whats happening with it as of July . I really think the Tafe SA will have to be the way for me as I cant afford childcare for 2 years while being a student to do the Diploma without income .

Don't hold me to any of this... it may not be completely accurate.. but i'm in melbourne and my understanding is the div 2 course is all changing at the moment from a cert 4 to a diploma course (which will still be run by tafes). My understanding is that as of 2011 div 2 nurses will require the diploma to gain registration as a nurse. So perhaps they arn't running the course for that reason...they may be waiting to begin running the diploma course... I am currently studying the cert 4 in melb and will finish my course in august 2010...
Anyhoo... its all very confusing this cert 4 and diploma thing.. hope i've been some help and that my info is accurate. Its hard to know what to believe with so much information floating around.

There is some info here http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/nursing/en.asp . Apparently you have to pay for it and ive heard for the price the should just go for RN's. Apparently they only have like 200 positions that the government pays for the rest have to pay themselves the price doesnt include books
