Hi,
i think they used to let students work as a div 2 after 2nd year not sure about now, it requires a registration as an enrolled nurse and i dont think you can do that as a student...however you are able to work as a pca in some aged care homes depending if they employ students ( some do not they may require a cert in aged care or similar). When i did my placement in aged care they offered me a job as a pca and i have no certificate in aged care. anywho email the board and specify what state you are studying then they will tell you if this is possibe.

I'm not sure about working as an EEN/Div 2, but I know that after your first year, most places will employ you as an AIN.

Dhiwatah, have a look at this link http://www.mayfield.edu.au/html/rfn.html .. I cam across it while looking for something completely unrelated lol. It looks like in Victoria atleast you can become an EN while studying the Bachelor of Nursing, but you can't give meds at all?

Well I know for certain that in victoria a student who has successfully completed the first year of bachelor of nursing can register as an enrolled nurse.
Now that AHPRA is the organisation responsible for registrations there would have to be a general guideline regarding this.
